The Tuning Fork

Serving locally sourced and seasonally inspired dishes, their menu will leave you spoilt for choice. Run by a local family, The Tuning Fork sits at the heart of Dollman Farm and welcomes the locals of Houlton as well as those travelling from around and about to sample the delicious menu.

The Exchange

The Exchange is a co-working space that provides Houlton residents, local entrepreneurs, students and professionals with more flexibility to work in a safe, comfortable environment. The Barn

Whether you’re into yoga, HITT workouts, or looking to get the little ones active, The Barn will have something for you and your family. Also a haven for parents and toddlers at the Dollman Dots session or mother and baby pilates, the venue has classes on five days a week and some weekends and is Houlton’s very own community venue. The Co-operative Food

Every new community needs a convenience store and, by stocking all the essentials and much more, the Co-operative Food store at Houlton is perfect for our residents. Located just one minute from The Tuning Fork in the newly developed Orchard House building, you’ll find everything you need to top up the store cupboard or whip up a culinary masterpiece.

Nature Trails

There is over a mile of walkways and cycleways already created at Houlton weaving through the land, play park and homes. These walkways contain over 65 acres of natural habitat for our wildlife and are rich in ecological features including ponds, wildflowers and hibernacular. The walkways are all interlinked into our nature trail, taking you out into the open space of Normandy Hill with its rolling ridge and furrow land.

Dollman Farm

From day one of living in Houlton you can enjoy the benefits of community life at Dollman Farm. You’ll find our Visitor Centre in the beautifully renovated farm house, next door to The Barn community centre and delicious Tuning Fork café. 

Our award winning eatery The Tuning Fork is a busy hive of community life, serving breakfasts, lunches and delicious coffee and cakes. Our community centre, The Barn is always busy with yoga, pilates, zumba, sewing and singing groups all signed-up and The Visitor Centre offering the vision for the future of Houlton.

Dollman Common

With 17 types of trees, natural play and a recreational pond, Dollman Common is the perfect place to relax or play. Its wispy willows, beech and oak trees are nestled amongst native Warwickshire trees including the ‘Wild Wood’ and ‘Wykin Pippin’ and they offer an attractive and familiar presence on arrival into Houlton.

Houlton Play Park

Commonly regarded amongst five-year-olds as “the bestest park ever”, Houlton’s adventure playground is going down a storm with our young residents. Featuring a showpiece tower, a bridge loop and sandpit area, as well as swings, slides and climbing equipment, the space has been designed to cater for team games and picnics as well as feature a nature trail.

The Old Station Nursery

With a firm belief that all children are unique, and with true dedication to family support, The Old Station Nursery is Houlton’s very first provider of full- and part-time care for zero- to five-year-old. Our local nursey for local kids, is located at the heart of our flourishing community with the purpose-built setting, conveniently located at Dollman Farm, offering a spacious, stimulating and engaging learning environment with 93% of pupils attending living in the Houlton area. The nursey has a plot at our local allotments to grow fresh produce to serve to the kids.

Houlton School

You’ll never be more than a mile to the school gate at Houlton, whether your little one is four or fourteen. The specially designed civic space around our schools means that even the school gate has been crafted with you in mind.

 

 There’s an array of walkways and cycleways at Houlton, all of which make getting to school on foot or bicycle very easy.

St Gabriel's School

Our first primary school, St Gabriel’s CofE Academy, opened in 2018 and is run through an Academy Trust, co-sponsored by the Diocese of Coventry and developer Urban&Civic.

 

The school was named after the Patron Saint of Communication, a name reflective of Houlton’s fascinating history and is part of a wider masterplan to enable the children of Houlton to be educated from nursery right through to A-Level, all within a mile or two of their home.
