Hands up, who wants to take a look at Houlton’s new primary school?
St Gabriel’s Church of England Academy recently opened its doors to prospective children and parents with a series of information days in October and November. There was the chance to see inside the freshly completed school building, and the opportunity to meet Headteacher, Andrew Taylor, ahead of the September 2018 intake.
Mr Taylor said: “We’ve been delighted to welcome the community and showcase our school’s fantastic new facilities.” He continued, “Throughout December, I’ll also be running a series of informal Headteacher meetings, giving everyone another opportunity to meet us, gain a sense of the environment we will provide for our pupils and hear about our passion for providing an outstanding education for every child.”
St Gabriel’s CofE Academy will offer 30 places for reception children in September 2018, as well as a mixed age intake for older children. As more families take up residence at Houlton, more school places will become available. And staff are already preparing to
welcome two new pupils three-year old twins, Ariyan and Reevan Gill.
As the very first applicants to the school, parents Tina and AJ are excited to establish their family within the community. Tina commented: “The school’s outstanding facilities, with plenty of open space both inside and out, together with Mr Taylor’s teaching
ethos, are the ideal fit for our boys.” Tina will be having a busy time at Houlton – she will also be running ‘Relax Kids’ classes in The Barn at Dollman Farm. More details will follow soon on our website.
Don’t miss the chance to meet the new Headteacher, at one of our informal meetings which are running throughout December on Thursdays between 1pm and 3pm.
