Morris reveals plans to start work on the first phase at Houlton

Morris is the second housebuilder to reveal their plans to start work on the first phase at Houlton and have announced their development will be named The Beacons, inspired by the building sites connection with the old Rugby Radio Station.

The development is a joint venture between master developer Urban&Civic and Aviva Investors and will bring a variety of homes to the Houlton community including a range of modern, high-quality, one, two, three, four and five bedroom mews as well as semi-detached and detached properties.

As one of the UK’s largest privately owned housebuilders with experience spanning over 60 years, Morris have built an enviable reputation and are known for creating remarkable designs and exceptional quality homes, both with customers and within the industry. This award-winning company put the demands of modern living at the forefront of their design and create inspiring homes with new possibilities.

Morris are set to build 183 uniquely designed properties in the first phase which will result in a collection of characterful homes that blend into the idyllic and peaceful village of Houlton.

Regional Managing Director at Morris, Dominic Harman said: “We’re thrilled to be starting work on such an exciting new expansion in Rugby and to be one of the first developers on the site.

We have every confidence that the first release of our homes will prove to be extremely popular for people looking to settle in a new and thriving community and we’re very pleased to be working in partnership with Urban&Civic to begin this project.”

Communications, Communities and Partnerships at Urban&Civic, Johanne Thomas added: “We have had a great early response to house buying at Houlton and the launch of The Beacons will add to the choice and volume of new homes on offer for purchasers as well as the sense of community you already get when you arrive at Houlton.

Morris’ use of The Beacons will also really resonate with the local market who fondly remember the red beacons at the top of the radio masts, welcoming them home from long journeys.”

Another selling point of The Beacons is its location, just 4 miles from Rugby town centre, it is situated near the M1, A5, M6, and M45 and has strong transport links to the major cities meaning homeowners can travel to London in 50 minutes and to Birmingham in half an hour by train.

The Beacons is due to open to the public later this summer where potential homeowners will have the opportunity to explore the new development for themselves. The sales suite will be located at Houlton’s Dollman Farm community hub next to The Visitor Centre and The Tuning Fork.
